Teddy Horse's A candle burner features new music from and is joined by artists who narrate his poems in between songs: Malcom Scruff Lewty (The apostles, HellBastard, sidewinder, Heavy Water), Andy Martin (The apostles, UNIT), Kavus Torabi (Gong, Knifeworld, Cardiacs, Mediaeval Babes), Buck Barnabus (Count Beetle, Buck Barnabus), John Harrington, and the Austrian writer Tinka Lukenda. Rufus Arcane appears in a composition and worked with Horse to design the album cover artwork.
A powerful album that evokes a dark, celtic, and medieval folk feel working in poetry and song and recalling an old feel in atmosphere. Joined by a wide range of talent adding their own unique voice and narration to the album and the poetry of Horse, it is most certainly a banquet of an affair, setting the atmosphere for the candle lit chamber. A special thanks to all who joined in to bring to life the tales and poems here, making a very special album. Here's to the candle burners and strangers, lost to the song and call, penning with their quills from deep ink wells far from the eyes of the normal world..
